DIANAL Acrylic Resins – Specialty Resins for Coatings, Inks, and Adhesives

Mitsubishi Chemical specialty resins are polymers or copolymers of methyl methacrylate or other monomers, for use in specialty coatings, inks, and adhesives formulations. The broad portfolio of resins offer the combination of properties associated with high-quality coating resins, such as outstanding resistance to ultraviolet degradation, excellent weather-ability, superior abrasion resistance, excellent resistance to water, alcohol, dilute acids and alkalis, chemical fumes and corrosive and oxidizing environments, high gloss and hardness, generally low pigment reactivity, water-white color and transparency, as well as, resistance to discoloration from heating.

Mitsubishi Chemical produces bead resins by aqueous suspension polymerization. The benefits of this process are narrow polydispersity, excellent resin formulation capabilities, solvent-free as well as free flowing products that dissolve rapidly in a variety of organic solvents.

MARCOATM and MARNEXTM – Solid Polyester Resins for Coatings, Inks and Adhesives

Macroocean’s amorphous MARCOATM and MARNEXTM solid polyester resin series compile a wide range from high to low molecular weight products to formulate coatings, inks, and adhesives in order to improve the adhesion to plastics, metals, papers, fabrics, and many other substrates, advance the weathering and yellowing resistance, as well as, impart good flexibility, tensile resistance, and deep drawing resistance. Due to their OH-functionality, the solid polyester resins can be cross-linked with standard hardeners such as isocyanates or amino resins. Most of the products can be applied to indirect food contact systems as they are compliant with FDA 21 CFR 175.300.

Lamberti Chemical Specialties hybrid polymers are excellent film formers that combine the best out of polyurethane and acrylic chemistries. The polyurethane matrix gives the coating its toughness and mechanical resiliency, while acrylic functionalization significantly contributes to its chemical and weather resistance.

Lamberti Chemical Specialties uses all standard synthetic raw materials along with more sophisticated bio-based chemicals to produce a wide range of versatile polymers to fulfill the formulation needs. Crosslinking with standard isocyanate-based crosslinkers, aziridines or carbodiimides may be of help by creating an entangled polymeric network within the coating, which increases the overall performance. Broadly available self-crosslinking hybrid polymers, however, allow to reduce the use of critical chemicals.

ESACOTE® and ESAJET® Dispersions – Functional Polyurethanes for every use

Polyurethane chemistry is highly versatile and allows Lamberti Chemical Specialties to obtain very different polymers by the combination of both numerous standard raw materials as well as more sophisticated bio-based chemicals.

Engineered structures and selected raw materials, aimed at enhancing strong hydrogen bondings of urethane and urea linkages, make Lamberti Chemical Specialties PUDs appreciated for several performance benefits. They might provide toughness, as well as resistance to abrasion, mechanical stress and strong chemicals. Some crosslinkers might be used such as standard isocyanate-based crosslinkers, aziridines or carbodiimides in order to form irreversible new linkages in application resulting in an entangled polymeric network that further strengthens the coating no matter the thickness or substrate.

In order to even better address customer needs, Lamberti Chemical Specialties provides innovative crosslinking pathways with its self-crosslinking and radiation curable PUDs. These two routes allow to reduce and eliminate the need for critical chemicals in the formulation, while reaching the outstanding performance of crosslinked coatings.

Lamberti Chemical Specialties PUDs film formers are designed to contain and require solvents and VOC as low as possible. Critical residual reactants are under strict control.

CROSSLINKER – High Reactivity to Impart Strength and Resistance

Lamberti Chemical Specialties CROSSLINKER are based on isocyanate chemistry. These organic groups are highly reactive. Thanks to their accumulative double bonds, they form urethane and urea linkages in coatings via a fast and exothermic reaction with components carrying active hydrogen atoms, such as alcohols, water, amines and carboxylic acids.

Isocyanates can successively react with urethane and urea linkages leading to a branched allophanate and biuret network that further increases the coating strength and its resistance to mechanical and chemical strain. No catalysts are required for these reactions to occur.
